London-based designer, Osman Ozdemir showing his S/S 09 collection called Garden Of Angels at a key fashion calendar event, hosting four catwalk shows, champagne brunch for press and buyers, and 50 exhibitors at the Old Truman Brewery. Osman Ozdemir completed his six-year degree course in Fashion, Dumlupinar University Turkey and in University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion, UK in 2005. After graduation with distinction he started to work with some designers in Fashion industry.
However he was selected as a finalist in a Fashion competition "Young Designers" which had been arranged to take place in Istanbul and awarded by the community of Fashion.
His interests in Fashion has started as a young man. He has liked drawin especially landscape and portraits. As he grew older he developed a keen interest in Fashion and home textiles since he draw well, he combined the two. His passion is to design and to see a design come to life through 3-dimensional shape through eastern elements, created with his own hands, that is what he wants to do.
Designer, Osman Ozdemir delights in contrasts whether that is a mix strong and romantic feminine, print with plain and dark with light, combines with his design philosophy of the natural use in detail, he synchronizes decorative materials with every Osman Ozdemir Collection.
Designer approaches the blank jersey of their faces with colour and form, the layering, pleating of his fabrics creates clever volumes on areas of the female form that contrast with and bring attention to the women. Emphasising innate individually and his hands-on creative process itself.
Osman Ozdemir likes strong women who are in control of themselves and have their own style; he doesn�t particularly like women who just wear and campaigns.
As well as his distinctive prints, the empire line is a feature throughout the collections. Much more flattering then bras cutting which does nothing. And he likes very boyish trousers that make girls look like boys.
He loves to travel and spend his time in his home town, he finds much of his inspiration while he is on holiday. He suppose when he is stressed, your time is scarcer so it is easier to somewhere you love. But inspiration can strike you anywhere.
�I wanted to do something positive, looking to brighter future. I went back to memories of childhood in home town which had bearing on the brightness and optimism of the collection.�
Spring is all about fresh colours and glowing designs. Getting dressed is about to get pretty and feminine. The key colours take their inspiration from nature, and one soft and delicate. Some self-indulgence is in order, so there is no time like grey days of winter to add a splash of colour to your look.
